Model in Progress

The Model so far ...

A combination of concrete, metal, glass, wood & stone. A "museum" on display, beginning from the exterior down to the materials/ textures used.

The Vitra museum is a museum dedicated to the history of collections of furniture. With"history" and "collection" in mind, i have decided to put these idea into physical form. The way i have chosen to approach this idea, was to use a combination of glass, white concrete and metallic sheets, selectively chosen, on different walls and surfaces of the different components of the Museum's original model itself. The interior's materiality are also selectively chosen - white concrete, timber walls and floors, and plain concrete.

The whole museum is also to light up (during darker hours where materiality would not be seen very clearly), creating an illuminating effect inspired by Herzog and de Meuron's Goetz Collection building. This will then be enhanced with the surrounding body of water, which will create an even more illuminating effect.
